The new Pokémon include, Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Crobat, Bellossom, Politoad, Slowking, Steelix, Tyrogue, Hitmontop, Blissey, Scizor, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Spinarak, Ariados, Sunkern, Sunflora, Wooper, Quagsire, Murkrow, Slugma, Magcargo, Larvitar, Pupitar, and Tyranitar.

Johto Pokémon can be found scattered through out the game in classic locations, making many areas feel new.

The new dex has many Johto Pokémon mixed in with the Kanto ones adding more monsters to catch and train. Pokémon Pink includes a new Pokédex dubbed the Pokédex 2.0.

Many move animations have been changed.

New overworld sprites have been added for each Pokémon.

Misty's shirt and shorts from Yellow were changed to the outfit seen in every Pokémon game after Generation 1.

Some Trainer sprites were also redone.

Front and Back sprites of all the Pokémon were updated to resemble their anime appearances even better then the changes made in Pokémon Yellow.

However, no matter who you choose you can still get all three during the game. At the start of the game you are granted with your typical choice of Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.
